who is tiny forest?
Tiny Forest Co. was founded by Wade Janzen in 2025 after falling in love with a cabin in the woods. Wade is an ISA TRAQ certified arborist and certified sustainability consultant with over 20 years of hands-on experience in ecology, education, and community-focused design.
Based in the mossy woods of the Pacific Northwest, Wade helps homeowners, nonprofits, housing cooperatives and municipalities grow healthier, more resilient landscapes.

how we work
-
Walk the site, talk through your goals and get a tailored plan to fit.
You won’t get pruning recommendations that don’t match your goals or quotes to remove trees without proper cause.
-
You’ve pledged to keep your trees standing, but what if a tree needs to go? You want someone you trust to get it done.
Your old tree snag could go to woodchip or it could host next year’s family of songbirds.
Whether your dream is a badass hawk perch or a barn owl that cruises your compost bin (for critters), we can help you get there.
-
You want to properly source plants to improve habitat and tackle the ever-looming, climate-induced, existential dread.
Has the butterfly bush incident from a few years ago made you double-down on your commitment to avoid the nursery industry greenwash?
We’re dedicated to promoting restoration-quality native stock from reputable local growers.
We focus on site-appropriate ecotypes, micro-habitat creation and sourcing plant relatives adored by native birds and pollinator species alike.
-
A tree is one part of a living system. Every action needs to start with your site history and conditions — the soil, neighbouring plants and seasonal changes.
Tiny Forest works with you to understand what the land can provide, and how we help you can give back and pay it forward.
